Senior Financial Reporting Analyst
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to join its corporate accounting and finance team. This role will support the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, assist with technical accounting matters, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, and help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. The position offers significant exposure to technical accounting, financial reporting, and cross-functional projects within a growing publicly traded organization.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assisting with the preparation and review of SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reports.
- Supporting financial reporting related to acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
- Preparing internal management reports and financial analyses.
- Recording journal entries and completing account reconciliations for technical accounting areas, including consolidations, stock-based compensation, debt, equity transactions, and other corporate accounting matters.
- Assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards and evaluating their impact on the organization.
- Researching technical accounting issues and preparing supporting documentation and recommendations.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Assisting with quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors.
- Participating in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA designation or actively pursuing required.
- Six or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with corporate accounting and financial reporting for a publicly traded company.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting research.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with financial reporting software.
- Experience with enterprise accounting systems.
- Industry experience within energy, natural resources, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries is preferred.
- Familiarity with technical accounting issues related to complex transactions and public company reporting.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
