Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detailed-oriented, and customer-focused Courier to join our bakery team. In this role, you will be responsible for the prompt, safe and secure transportation of inter-company and wholesale goods to local destinations. If you have a clean driving record, excellent time management skills and a commitment to top-tier service we want to hear from you for this part-time position working approximately 15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely Deliveries: Plan efficient routes and transport between our business properties and wholesale clients within established timeframes.
- Safe Operation: Operate a company-provided vehicle safely, obeying all local traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain shipping documents to obtain delivery receipts and record any delivery exceptions or discrepancies.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with clients, customers, and recipients upon drop-off and pick-up.
- Package Handling: Load and unload items securely to prevent damage, verifying that all items match manifests before departure.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine daily pre-trip vehicle inspections, check fluid levels, and report maintenance needs promptly for Ford E-350 7.3Liter V* with dual rear wheels and lift gate commercial vehicle.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major violations or excessive points).
- Experience: Proven experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Skills: Strong working knowledge of local geography.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to push carts of bakery items onto lift gate and secure rack within vehicle. Must be able to walk and climb to deliver goods to local destinations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent punctuality, organizational abilities, and professional communication skills.
- Age: Minimum age requirement of 21 years old as required for commercial auto insurance policy.
