Position Summary
The restaurant custodian facilities member is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the inside and outside areas of the restaurant throughout peak dining times ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for our guests. This full-time seasonal position has a standard work week of 12PM-8PM, Wednesday to Sunday working less than twenty-six (26) weeks per year from June to December.
- Cleaning and sanitizing various areas like lobbies, restrooms, hallways, public spaces and employee break room.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting floors and other surfaces.
- Emptying trash and managing waste disposal properly.
- Performing minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs or batteries.
- Restocking supplies in restrooms and other common areas.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of outdoor areas like sidewalks, parking lots and patios.
- Reporting any larger maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
Guest/Customer Service:
- Greeting guests or visitors and providing assistance or directions.
- Assisting with guest inquiries and offering information about the facility or local area.
Operational Support:
- Delivering supplies to departments from stockroom.
- Monitoring premises for safety hazards and reporting any concerns.
- Physical Stamina: Required for lifting and moving heavy items (like luggage, up to 50 pounds or more in some cases), standing for long hours, and performing various cleaning tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Reliability and Dependability: Ability to follow instructions, manage time effectively, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic Mechanical Skills: Useful for performing minor repairs and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is often preferred, and some positions may require prior experience in similar roles, such as janitorial or custodial work.
Customer Service Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting professionally with guests, clients, and staff.
