We are looking for a Part-Time Performance Cook to support our culinary team during evening and weekend shifts tied to the training and game schedule of a professional sports team in San Jose, CA. Your role and impact
As a part-time performance cook, you will help execute meals that directly support the fueling and recovery of professional athletes. You’ll work under the direction of our Executive Chef and Dietitian Director, delivering precise, high-quality meals in a fast-paced, professional setting.
What you will do
culinary operations & execution

Prepare and plate meals during high-performance mealtimes (e.g., pre-game, post-training)

Follow performance-based recipes with accuracy and attention to portion sizes

Set up and maintain food stations for optimal flow during team service

Support grab-and-go prep and post-event recovery meals
Team & service support

Work closely with full-time cooks, dietitian, and chefs during busy service periods

Maintain a clean and efficient work environment before, during, and after events

Jump in wherever needed to support meal success and kitchen flow
Nutrition & quality standards

Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and athlete-specific preferences

Prioritize freshness, presentation, and functionality in every dish

Uphold high standards of food safety and sanitation at all times
What you will need

1–2 years of professional kitchen experience (culinary certification a plus)

Familiarity with performance or health-conscious meal prep is preferred

Excellent knife skills and ability to follow detailed recipes

Flexibility to work variable hours based on team schedule

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)

Team-oriented, dependable, and respectful attitude

Spanish-speaking is a plus, not required
