Foodservice Supervisor - Healthcare | Location: Phoenix, AZ 85008
Compensation: $23-$26 per hour| Full-Time
Schedule: 40 hours a week, 3rd shift — 4pm-12:30am / 6pm-2:30am
Job Summary
The Foodservice Supervisor leads day‑to‑day operations with a focus on great food, safe practices, and standout service. This role is perfect for a motivated leader who enjoys being hands‑on, supporting their team, and keeping operations running smoothly in a high‑energy foodservice environment.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of food service staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
- Monitor inventory levels and ordering of food and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes and portion control standards.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in executing efficient and timely service, resolving customer complaints, and addressing any issues that arise during service.
- Conduct regular inspections of dining areas, kitchen, and storage areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and enforce proper food handling procedures and safety protocols among food service staff, including handwashing, glove usage, and temperature control.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and employee morale.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inventory, staffing, and other operational activities.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and customer service excellence, leading by example and fostering a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in food service management preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service or hospitality industry, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, with certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of employees.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, staff, and management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
- ServSafe® Certification.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- In this role, you will spend most of your time in offices, patient care areas, and meetings, but periodic kitchen visits are part of your oversight responsibilities. Therefore, this job involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may also occur in the kitchen area. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
