The Team Leader position will directly oversee and support up to 15 production technicians with training, technical needs, and production guidance. This hourly employee reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

MAJOR DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

· Notifies respective parties on non-conforming parts.

· Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.

· Oversees and assists in machine startup.

· Conducts routine safety and equipment inspections.

· Reviews Equipment, Pokayoke, Daily Inspection, and Daily Performance Reports and sign off accordingly.

· Updates Gemba Boards daily.

· Assures technicians are trained on how to record proper operating and material information for production.

· Assures technicians are trained on proper operation of equipment and changeovers.

· Trains new trainers.

· Performs housekeeping to maintain production and operations in neat and orderly condition.

· Participates in problem solving to make necessary equipment repairs or process corrections to maintain required production quality and volume.

· Assists the supervisor and make recommendations on evaluations, and disciplinary actions but does not perform them.

· Provides production or operations support as directed by supervisor or other management.

· Conducts Observation Reports at required frequency.

· Explains and demonstrates lock out / tag out.

· Assures the completion of periodic P.M’s.

· Leads or participates in QC Circle activities.

· Leads or participates in scrap reduction activities.

· Leads or participates in productivity improvement activities.

· Leads or participates in safety improvement activities.

· Conducts start of shift meetings.

· Assists in component and finished goods material handling when needed.

· Assists in removal and disposal of shavings.

· In the absence of the supervisor, the team leader will serve as backup person.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

· As a minimum, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

· Minimum of one year of employment at TRNA or direct hire based on past experience.

· Working knowledge of Kaizen activities.

· Ability to explain and do all start-up, equipment, and pokayoke checks.

· Ability to understand and explain all processes and inspection checks.

· Ability to understand and explain lot control and other parts tracking.

· Ability to show proper use of gages and equipment and recommend gage training.

· Ability to understand and explain all coolant and lube locations and procedures.

· Understands production reporting and flow of communications

· Ability to do all tool changes, tool sets, and adjustments.

· Understands all KPIs (Safety, Operational Availability, PPH, Scrap PPM, 5S, etc.)

· Ability to understand and explain Change Point Management.

· Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

· Ability to use sound judgment and reasoning.

· Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

· Able to troubleshoot using standard TRNA problem solving tools

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· The employee must frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.

· The employee is frequently exposed to oils and greases or coolants.

· The employee may be exposed to mild to moderate temperatures.
