Research Recruiter — Frontier AI Lab
Salary: $350k plus Bonus & Equity
Hybrid Palo Alto - 3 days a week
A frontier AI lab is building general-purpose world models: causal, interactive, real-time simulations. Not video generation, but actual simulation with a persistent world state, real-time interactivity, and agent-readiness. The team is ~50 people, scaling towards 150, and well-funded by tier-1 VCs and strategic corporate investors.
They're hiring a recruiter to focus purely on research talent, the people building the world models themselves.
What you'll do
- Own full-lifecycle research searches: source, engage, close against every other frontier lab competing for the same small pool of people.
- Source where researchers actually are: papers (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, RSS, CoRL), GitHub, citation graphs, lab alumni networks, not keyword spam.
- Build the research-hiring process from the ground up: pipelines, calibration with research leadership, and an employer-brand story that earns replies from people who ignore recruiters.
- Run a clean Ashby pipeline and report on it before anyone asks.
What we're looking for
- In-house or embedded recruiting at an AI or deep-tech company.
- An existing researcher network.
- High agency and clock speed. You move without waiting for permission.
- You use AI tools in your own workflow every day and can demonstrate it.
- You can have a real conversation with a researcher about their work and compete with labs that have deeper pockets.
Salary : $300,000 - $350,000
