  • Employ a variety of techniques—including airbrushing, hand-painting, and intricate prosthetic work—to bring characters to life.
  • Faithfully execute established character designs while infusing your own creative flair where appropriate.
  • Ensure every makeup application is durable enough to withstand hours of intense performance and movement.

Masterful Time Management:

  • Work swiftly and efficiently to complete complex makeup looks under tight time constraints.
  • Juggle multiple actors’ needs at once, prioritizing touch-ups and reapplications throughout the night to keep every character looking their best.

Impeccable Station Management:

  • Maintain a pristine, organized, and sanitized workspace at all times.
  • Diligently care for and organize all makeup supplies and tools, monitoring inventory and promptly reporting supply needs.
  • Adapt your station setup seamlessly to accommodate varying locations and space limitations.

Collaborative Creativity:

  • Partner closely with the costume department to ensure every character’s look is cohesive and compelling.
  • Communicate clearly with actors about makeup processes and aftercare, ensuring comfort and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with fellow makeup artists to maintain visual consistency and share innovative ideas that elevate the haunt’s overall aesthetic.

Agile Adaptability:

  • Respond quickly to last-minute changes or unique actor needs, adjusting designs and techniques on the fly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve makeup challenges that arise during performances, even in demanding environments like low light or outdoor settings.

Continuous Learning and Professionalism:

  • Participate in pre-season training to master specific character designs and learn new techniques.
  • Stay current with the latest products and trends in special effects makeup for haunted attractions.
  • Maintain a calm, positive, and professional demeanor, respecting actors’ comfort and personal space—even during the most high-pressure moments.
