Third Coast Infrastructure, LLC is an offshore focused midstream company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Our core assets are strategically located in the Gulf of America, where we own and operate a large infrastructure network of pipelines, platforms, and processing operations covering a significant footprint in the Gulf. Our pipelines traverse large swaths of the Gulf of America, connecting deep water fields to onshore infrastructure.

We’re seeking an experienced Louisiana or Mississippi based Offshore Pipeline Technician to work on an offshore production platform. Standard work schedule is 14/14 rotation, with helicopter travel out of Picayune, MS. Offshore Pipeline Technician performs a variety of operational and technical job duties on an offshore platform including maintenance, I&E, and measurement to ensure equipment and systems are operating efficiently in accordance with safety and service requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair work on pipelines, metering stations and related equipment.
  • Maintenance, repair, calibration and troubleshooting of electrical and pneumatic equipment and PLC-based safety systems.
  • Collect gas samples in compliance with partnership safety and industry guidelines.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pipeline valves and actuators.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot pipeline and platform hydraulics and process flow/pressure.
  • Monitor gas and liquid product volumes through the measurement system, ensure all corrections are applied and proper qualities are applied.
  • Perform operator and technician services as directed and in accordance with specific project work plan and operating procedures.
  • Serve as first-responder to pipeline emergencies.
  • Respond to and resolve one-call tickets.
  • Review and update station isometric drawings.
  • Use proper tools and equipment to perform integrity management and regulatory tasks on pipeline.
  • Perform general upkeep and maintenance tasks, safety checks, and inspections of assigned facilities and equipment, e.g., control panels, heater treaters, compressors, tanks, scrubbers on offshore platform.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to company safety and environmental guidelines and requirements when performing job duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and weather including heat and cold, wind and humidity with exposure to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system, e.g., fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, poor ventilation.
  • Physical activities of this position include standing or sitting for long hours, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
  • Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines; using measurement devices.
  • Worker may be exposed to a variety of conditions including weather extremes, confined spaces, loud noises, vibration, and potential hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to high heat and chemicals.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Perform job duties in required PPE which includes steel toe boots, respirator, hard hat, and appropriate electrical arc flash gear. 
  • Boat or helicopter transport required to and from offshore facility.
  • Occasional travel including overnight stays as needed to other work locations and/or offices. Volume varies by work location.
  • Assigned schedule varies by location (14/14 rotation, 4/10s, 5/2, 9/80) and subject to change by management; overtime and on-call hours as required.
  • Position subject to DOT Pipeline drug/alcohol testing requirements.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Able to obtain and maintain required certifications: HUET, Crane/Rigger, T2, TWIC card.
  • Technical schooling in electrical or related field preferred.
  • Offshore experience with meter proving and pipeline pigging experience.
  • Assigned job level (I, II or III) depends on experience.
  • Experience in natural gas and oil production a plus.
  • Minimum two years oil and/or gas pipeline with demonstrated knowledge of pipeline regulations.
  • I&E, measurement, or related work experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API and GPA requirements and procedures preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English, required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills include the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with internal and external colleagues. 
  • Able to work independently, adapt, deal with interruptions, prioritize and complete assignments under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must be able to travel and work on a call-out basis.
