What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wealth Manager position at Third Act Wealth Management, LLC?
Wealth Manager — Third Act Wealth Management
Dallas, TX · Full-time, on-site
About Us
Third Act Wealth Management is a boutique wealth management firm in Dallas, founded in 2023 and affiliated with LPL Financial. We work with pre-retirees, retirees, and business owners with $1 million or more in liquid net worth, coordinating investments, tax, cash flow, estate, and risk as one integrated plan rather than handling any piece in isolation.
We're growing by adding advisor-led teams. This is that hire.
The Role
We're looking for a high-caliber Wealth Manager to build, service, and manage their own client pod — and to help drive our next stage of growth.
This is not a second-chair seat. You'll own client relationships, run your own meetings, and carry real responsibility for new client acquisition from the start. You'll begin working directly alongside our founder on live client work, with hands-on mentorship in real client meetings, before transitioning to full pod ownership with revenue-share economics on the book you build.
This is a high-visibility, high-upside opportunity for an advisor who wants to build something of their own — someone who naturally earns trust, commands a room, and is genuinely motivated by growth.
Where the Clients Come From
We generate our own demand through paid inbound lead flow, dinner seminars, and a growing webinar program. You'll receive real opportunities from day one — and you'll own the responsibility of turning them into lasting client relationships.
What You'll Own
Growth & Business Development
- Convert firm-generated opportunities into lasting client relationships
- Own new client acquisition results, not just participation in them
- Build a self-sourced pipeline through referrals, centers of influence, and your own network
- Represent Third Act in seminars, webinars, and community settings
Client Relationship Ownership
- Serve as the primary advisor for the relationships you onboard
- Lead client meetings end to end
- Build deep, trusted relationships through proactive communication and follow-through
Financial Planning & Strategy
- Develop and deliver comprehensive plans across retirement, tax, estate, and investments
- Use eMoney for planning and client deliverables, and Holistiplan for tax analysis
- Own portfolio strategy and implementation for your pod
- Articulate complex strategies in a way that resonates with clients
Pod Leadership & Execution
- Lead a dedicated paraplanning and operations team as your pod is established
- Maintain a high standard of client experience and operational execution within our planning framework
- Work closely with internal teams and custodial partners
Qualifications
- Series 65, or Series 66 with Series 7
- 5 years in a client-facing wealth management role
- A demonstrated record of originating client relationships, not only servicing existing ones
- CFP® designation, or commitment to complete within 24 months (CPA, ChFC, PFS, or CFA also considered)
- Proficiency with eMoney and Holistiplan
- Experience within or alongside the LPL platform strongly preferred
Who Thrives Here
- Hungry: Self-motivated and driven to build something of your own — you push yourself without being pushed
- Humble: You share credit, put the team ahead of yourself, and have no ego about doing the unglamorous work
- People-Smart: You read a room, build trust quickly, and know how your words land
- Polished & Credible: You represent us well in any setting — client meeting, seminar stage, or referral conversation
- Accountable: You own outcomes, not activities
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive income based on experience
- New business incentive plus revenue share on the book you build
- Health insurance, retirement plan, generous PTO
- Firm-funded CE, licensing, and designation support
