Senior RF Engineer Job Summary: This position is focused on the RF design, analysis, and manufacture of antennas, antenna feeds, stationary and mobile antenna systems, and related RF components ranging from L-band to W-band. ‍ Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Create RF structures and antenna designs as part of an integrated product team as an RF Engineer Create effective and efficient designs during all phases of product development, including conceptual design, detailed design, integration, and test Work will involve applying existing ThinKom proprietary core technologies and design techniques, expanding and improving upon ThinKom core technology, and the development of new antenna technologies Prepare and present design and analysis summary material during internal and external design reviews May support multiple programs/products simultaneously Support business development activities by providing assistance during proposal efforts, as needed Document RF designs using ThinKom record retention procedures Additional responsibilities may include system integration and product support Follows Company design procedures and corporate policies Other tasks, as assigned from time to time Skills and/or Experience Needed: BS (MS preferred) in RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering,or Physics Solid understanding of the fundamentals of electromagnetics,antennas, and transmission line theory 5+ years of experience in the field of antenna design and analysis is required Previous experience with phased array design, is highly desirable Ability to apply knowledge of electromagnetics to create designs that meet requirements and are amenable to cost-effective manufacturing techniques. This will require developing a basic understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing techniques. Expected to become practiced in the art of novel antenna technology Previous phased array antenna design experience is highly desirable Extensive experience using EM software such as ANSYS HFSS™, to design antennas and related components, is highly desirable Technically proficient in MS Office products Language Skills: Requires strong interpersonal and presentation skills, able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of management and/or customers Interpersonal skills to constructively interact and work effectively with other ThinKom engineering disciplines as well as with suppliers andcustomers Reasoning Ability: Ability to communicate in a calm, deliberate manner Must have substantial reasoning and problem-solving abilities, extensive planning and scheduling skills, able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Energetic and creative with strong analytical skills and solid work ethic Must be able to make decisions and get the team working together effectively in accordance with the decision made Other Abilities Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form Must have substantial reasoning and problem solving abilities Creative with strong analytical skills and solid work ethic Additional Requirements Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD SecurityClearance Physical Demands: Ability to travel up to 5% of time. This position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data. This position may be subject to frequent on the job interruptions that may cause a change in immediate priorities and/or work focus. While performing duties of this position, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and/or bend. May occasionally lift and/or move files or boxes up to 40pounds May be subjected to irregular or extended work hours.
