Texas Regional Storm Response - Wire Down Guard (Part Time Position)
Job Description:
Think Power Solutions is seeking qualified candidates with a clean driving record, no experience needed, to join our growing National Storm Response organization. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in restoring electric service to communities and businesses following storm related outages throughout Texas. Responsibilities:
Driver/Wire Guard is a dual function position with duties assigned as needed per mobilization. As a Driver, you will be paired with and work under the direction of a Damage Evaluator, working as a team to identify damaged utility infrastructure. You will be expected to safely perform tasks related to post-storm patrol and assessment of overhead distribution. As a Wire Guard, you secure a scene where damaged electrical wires/ equipment poses a potential hazard to the public. You will remain on site, preventing the general public from approaching a potentially hazardous area until utility service crews arrive to make repairs. Driver/Wire Guards will be trained in applicable safety protocol for the host utility and Think Power Solutions.
Base Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to be used on the job
- Ability to mobilize quickly following a storm event
- Ability to communicate and work with remote teams
- Physically able to work extended hours under adverse conditions
- Proficient with mobile technology and Microsoft Office
- Four-wheel drive truck or SUV
- Smart phone with data plan
- Ability to pay incurred travel and meal expenses
- I9 Verification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the utility sector
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Previous storm assessment experience
Work Environment:
- When mobilized, plan on being on site for an extended period
- Travel requirements: 100%
- Work schedule varies and could include weekends, nights, and holidays (possibly 7 day weeks)
Compensation:
- Pay = $ 30/hour door to door
- Mileage reimbursement @ Current IRS rate
- Per diem as appropriate
