- Prepare and bake a variety of pastry items including, cakes, cookies, plated desserts, breads, petit fours and banquet style desserts.
- Follow recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain inventory of prepped ingredients.
- Assist in daily production, banquet production and functions, and a la carte service.
- Properly label and store ingredients, keeping kitchen area and tools clean.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Experience: 2 years of professional pastry or baking experience (hotel, restaurant, or bakery preferred).
- Education: Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge on pastry techniques, ingredients and equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic math skills
- Certifications: Food handler's permit or similar certification as required by local regulations.
- Ability to work a 8-10 hours shift, 5 days per week.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate decorating tasks.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
- Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and food presentation.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with high level of focus and attention to detail.
- This position requires working in a kitchen environment, which may involve exposure to heat, noise, and various kitchen equipment.
