What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape operations manager position at Thetford Landscaping?

Thetford landscaping is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our organization, hand on approach day to day on site production, guide process improvements, training staff, working with project forepersons onsite, meeting clients, problem solving and weekly work flow planning.

We are looking to fill this position in early 2026 with the goal of implementing a customer relationship management softwear like LMN or Aspire of other? An ideal candidate would have excellent working knowledge of CRM softwear as it relates to the landscape industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, produce jobs, schedule all staff daily, Including work flow, materials, costs and overall production.
  • Assist in layout, design, materials delivery and operation. Our ideal candidate would have previous skills in a wide range of landscape projects. Including, Irrigation, tree planting, maintenance, hardscapes, equipment operation, employee training, and job planning.
  • Build new as needed and impliment company Standard operating procedures. Achieve operational excellence and drive business growth.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and stakeholders to ensure favorable terms.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and revenue. This position would be responsible to expand winter revenue as currently we largely a summer only business.
  • Provide senior leadership and guidance to the operations team. Proficient in CRM softwear and able to impliment those tools into our quickbook systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years in the landscape industry with hands on experience. We are looking for a very experienced team member that has hands on skills to do, lead, train and inspire our staff to high standard.
  • Ensure staff members have a safe work environment.
  • Hold staff meetings, saftey training and performance reviews with staffs.
  • Strong background in operations management, process improvement, and project management.
  • Stong knowledge of Irrigation, tree planting, equipment operation, hardscapes, employee training and job site planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of business development principles and practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, operations management would be ideal but not required. High school degree is required.
  • Be able and willing to work in the field with crews, operating, installing, and producing revenue generating jobs.

Compensation: We have placed a wide range on this post for a few reasons. We are mostly a seasonal business operating from May 1 - Nov 1. We are looking for help year round but we are open to an applicant that only wants to work in the summer season. We are also open to interviewing applicants that may not meet all of our requirements. The pay scale will be dependent on the skills, and ability of the applicant to solve problems, manage staff, assist in projects and grow personally and professionally.

Currently we have housing available to a qualified applicant. This is complex discussion but this is an option for an applicant looking to relocate to Breckenridge.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year This is a large range because we are open to a person that wants a seasonal position ( summer) and has another full or part time job in the winter. We are located in a ski town and some enjoy vocations around snow sports so we are potentially open to that option.

Housing in Breckenridge is difficult and expensive. We possibly have some housing solutions but things change fast so us know if you are considering relocating for this job. May 1st 2026 we likely will have housing available for this position but we want to hired ahead of this date.

Expected hours: 40- per week avg. Summer will be more than 40 hours, Winter season will be less than 40 hours
