Position Overview:
Thetford Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Librarian / Technology Integration Specialist to support both literacy development and assessment practices across grades K–6. This role blends weekly library instruction with meaningful technology integration, with a particular emphasis on supporting school-wide assessment systems and data use.
Key Responsibilities:
Library Instruction & Management
Provide weekly library instruction to each class (K–6), fostering a love of reading, research skills, and information literacy
Develop and implement engaging lessons aligned with classroom curriculum and Vermont standards
Maintain and organize the school library collection, including selection, circulation, and inventory
Promote reading through book displays, events, and collaboration with staff
Technology Integration & Assessment Support
Support teachers and staff with technology integration to enhance instruction and student learning
Assist with the coordination and administration of school-wide assessments (e.g., STAR, VTCAP, or other district tools)
Collaborate with staff to troubleshoot technology during assessment windows
Help organize and manage assessment schedules, materials, and logistics
Support staff in accessing and utilizing assessment data to inform instruction
Collaboration & Leadership:
Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy and technology into instruction
Participate in PLCs and school-wide initiatives related to curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices
Provide professional support to staff on digital tools and resources
Serve as a resource for digital citizenship and responsible technology use
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification (Library Media Specialist or Educational Technology preferred)
Experience working in an elementary school setting
Knowledge of literacy instruction, children’s literature, and library systems
Familiarity with assessment platforms and data systems (preferred)
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Salary Range:
The anticipated annual salary for this role is $48,886 – $102,659, based on experience, level of education. Compensation is determined by the district’s collective bargaining agreement, which considers factors such as degree level and years of service. This compensation range is provided in accordance with Vermont’s Pay Transparency Law and reflects a good faith estimate. Final salary may vary depending on qualifications, licensure, and other relevant factors
