What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler Forklift Operator position at Thermoid?
Position Summary
This position is ideal for those who love to work independently and in a team!
Responsible for preparing batches for mixing in intermix equipment, in accordance with the mixing specifications: set in required raw materials to include pigments, rubber, polymers, and other chemicals, by operating a forklift truck or hand truck. Will be given instruction in forklift operation and must pass test to be authorized.
Pay: $19.48/hr $1.50 shift differential & $150 monthly attendance bonus.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Quality checks and documentation necessary for ISO compliance and customer requirements.
- Technology and automation implemented across the plant will replace current paper-based and manual operations and processes.
- Ensure all HBD Safety Policies and Procedures are followed when performing job duties.
- Operate forklift truck or hand truck, which includes unloading, weighing and storing raw materials in assigned areas.
- Enter correct data into D365 system
- As required, maintain assigned storage areas, remove raw materials including mixed compound, waste and trash from production areas, weigh and place in appropriate places.
- Will be given instruction in forklift operation and must pass test to be authorized.
- Maintain records to include marking weights and other pertinent information on materials, including raw materials being moved to and from production areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition during the shift. Sweep and clean area at the end of each shift.
Experience and Education Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
- Basic math and computer skills
- Correctly use and interpret hand tools such as hose cutters, OD tape, plug gauge, etc.
- Stand for long periods; push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in non-temperature-controlled environments
- Always wear PPE properly
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends
- Successful completion of forklift certification
- Strong teamwork and reliability
