JOB SUMMARY: Equipment Operator ensures safe and orderly loading and unloading of material using various machinery. Equipment Operator delivers materials to appropriate area in preparation of the next step in the process. Accurate forecasting and preparation for the next business day are vital for maintaining smooth and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all incoming deliveries match Thermo Bond purchase orders.
- Loads and unloads inventory from flatbeds, delivery trucks, storage areas, and production areas.
- Stores cargo in designated locations.
- Operates various machinery, including booms, cranes, combi lift, forklifts, and shag vehicle to handle materials and inventory.
- Records daily tracking and appropriate information on production sheets.
- Analyzes pick sheets based on clients' orders and pulls the appropriate products for each order.
- Anticipates and prepares for the next business day’s needs to ensure a seamless start.
- Maintains clean work area.
- High safety considerations.
- Complies with all safety and health regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Crane and rigging experience.
- Punctual.
- Detail oriented.
- Tractor/trailer experience (CDL not required).
- Mechanical background to assist in maintaining equipment and machine.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, AND SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB manufacturing location Monday through Friday as deemed necessary. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Forklift certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification, preferred. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including but not limited to):
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility to determine needs.
- Able to work a 10-hour shift standing/walking.
- Able to climb ladders or steps repetitively.
- Able to bend, crouch, twist, and pull.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
