JOB SUMMARY: The Designer role requires advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and basic experience with 3D modeling, preferably using Autodesk Inventor, to create detailed building designs for the telecommunications industry. Training will be provided to enhance skills with Inventor modeling software. A strong understanding of building construction and the ability to interpret blueprints are essential.
This position also involves using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to create and maintain Bills of Material (BoM) for manufacturing work orders used in the construction of Thermo Bond shelters. The Designer will collaborate with the Sales team and customers to develop detailed drawings, ensuring all requirements and potential customer changes are effectively communicated to the manufacturing team.
REPORTS TO:
- Engineering Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Sales personnel to create initial design prints based on customer specifications, revising as needed through feedback from customers and Thermo Bond Building (TBB) staff to deliver a finalized design.
- Develop and update facility layout prints to accommodate modifications and evolving TBB requirements.
- Coordinate with Integration, Electrical, and Engineering teams to ensure accuracy and detail in prints.
- Work closely with the Purchasing department to evaluate and select materials that meet project-specific requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical drafting.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic 3D modeling experience with SolidWorks, Inventor (preferred), or similar software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:
- Demonstrated ability to analyze design challenges and propose effective solutions.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL:
- Strong focus on accuracy and precision in drafting and design work.
ADAPTABILITY AND LEARNING:
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, or methodologies, especially regarding Inventor or other 3D modeling software.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- None required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s degree in drafting or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Travel and Hours of Work:
- This position typically requires the individual to be on-site at one or more TBB manufacturing locations Monday through Friday, as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required
Compensation and Benefits:
- This is a full-time, salaried position that does not require hourly time reporting.

Physical Requirements:
