Project Manager I – Mission Critical / Construction

Role Overview
We’re seeking a Project Manager I to support construction-focused automation projects for hyperscale data centers. Working onsite in New Albany, OH, you’ll coordinate field activities, subcontractors, schedules, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This Role Is Ideal For Someone With
- 3 years project or construction project coordination/management experience
- Strong ability to collaborate and influence onsite trades and partners
- Confidence working with remote supervision and distributed teams
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent experience
- 3 years experience supporting construction or control-system project delivery (field experience strongly preferred)
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, schedules, documentation, and progress tracking on active job sites
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Coordination
- Coordinate daily subcontractor and trade partner activities
- Support scheduling, material planning, and field installation progress
- Ensure site work aligns with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Assist with commissioning coordination and readiness activities
Customer & Contractor Interaction
- Serve as an onsite point of contact for general contractors and trade partners
- Communicate professionally, proactively, and with follow-through
- Build strong, trust-based working relationships across teams
Documentation, Budget & Change Management
- Track progress, forecast schedule and cost impacts, and support reporting
- Support creation and administration of change orders
- Ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with Thermo’s Quality Management System (QMS)
Team & Safety
- Promote and enforce Thermo and site safety standards
- Support junior staff, field personnel, and vendor coordination
Required Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated success managing or coordinating construction-site activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with remote support
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office / MS Project (or similar scheduling tools)
- Understands how mechanical and electrical decisions impact safety and system operation (training/support provided)
Travel Requirements
- Majority of work will be onsite in New Albany, OH during the first year
- Future travel or temporary project relocation may be required based on customer and program needs
