Overview
Thermo Pros, the mechanical contracting division of Thermo Solutions, Inc., is seeking an experienced HVAC Installer to join our growing team in Warren, Rhode Island.
We specialize in residential, light commercial, and commercial HVAC installations throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. Our work includes split systems, heat pumps, rooftop units, ductwork, refrigerant piping, heating equipment, and mechanical system replacements.
We're looking for a skilled, dependable installer who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently, and is comfortable handling multiple aspects of an HVAC installation.
Our ideal candidate has experience with both sheet metal ductwork and refrigerant piping. However, we welcome applicants who are particularly strong in one discipline and interested in expanding their skills.
Candidates with predominantly residential experience are encouraged to apply. Commercial experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Install HVAC equipment including air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, furnaces, rooftop units, and split systems.
- Fabricate, modify, and install sheet metal ductwork, fittings, transitions, and related components.
- Install refrigerant piping, including cutting, fitting, brazing, pressure testing, and evacuation.
- Install condensate piping, venting, equipment supports, and associated mechanical components.
- Assist with hydronic and gas piping installations when qualified.
- Perform equipment startups, system checks, and basic troubleshooting as qualified and legally permitted.
- Read and interpret installation manuals, mechanical drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Work independently or with other installers to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Identify installation challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe jobsites.
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and other trades.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous hands-on HVAC installation experience.
- Experience with sheet metal ductwork, refrigerant piping, or both.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of HVAC installation practices.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take ownership of assigned work.
- Familiarity with common HVAC installation tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician license or Rhode Island Journeyperson Refrigeration license.
- Massachusetts or Rhode Island Sheet Metal or Pipefitting license.
- Experience with both sheet metal fabrication/installation and refrigerant piping.
- Refrigerant piping brazing, nitrogen pressure testing, evacuation, and startup experience.
- Residential and light commercial HVAC installation experience.
- Commercial rooftop equipment and split-system installation experience.
- Experience with hydronic heating or gas piping.
- Basic HVAC service and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- EPA Section 608 certification.
- Experience leading installations or working with helpers.

Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $32–$42 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and ability to work independently.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime or adjusted start times depending on project needs.
Location: Warren, RI, with projects throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
