A day in the Life:

  • Lead and manage EHS staff and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and conduct EHS training and risk assessments.
  • Represent the company in interactions with regulatory bodies.
  • Define site maintenance and soft service requirements. Set service level agreements for services including security, janitorial, reception, cafeteria, catering, parking, and groundskeeping. Work with service providers to ensure site needs are met, on time and on budget.
  • Lead site facilities team, to plan and coordinate projects and tasks to meet strategic, operational and financial targets. Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed as scoped and follow up on any deficiencies.
  • Support external, internal and corporate audits for security, risk management, insurance, energy, quality, and business Continuity. Review outcomes and agree suitable countermeasures to concerns. Oversee implementation of agreed improvements and close identified gaps in a timely manner.
  • Support sourcing group initiatives to identify value adding opportunities, working closely with local finance and procurement to deliver the best quality, price, and services for the site.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (MS or equivalent experience preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of EHS experience in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety protocols.
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement environments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Expertise in regulatory compliance, Chemical Safety, Process Safety, and Occupational Safety.
  • Strong background in Environmental Compliance and Permitting.
  • Proficient in software tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This role requires occasional travel up to 30% and the ability to manage EHS operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
