DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Director of Procurement/Sourcing at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will guide strategic procurement vision and execution across complex global categories. You'll collaborate closely with divisional operations leaders to develop and implement long-term strategies that optimize quality, cycle time, risk management, and total cost of ownership. Managing a high-achieving team, you'll focus on building supplier partnerships, fostering innovation, and delivering measurable value through strategic sourcing initiatives. REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in procurement/sourcing in a large matrix organization, including leadership roles
- Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
- CPM, CPSM or equivalent procurement certification preferred
- Demonstrated success developing and executing global category management strategies
- Strong business acumen with proven ability to improve P&L through strategic sourcing
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management
- Experience building and developing effective procurement teams
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Ability to facilitate change and work effectively in a complex global organization
- Experience with e-sourcing tools, spend analytics, and procurement systems
- Knowledge of supplier quality management and regulatory compliance requirements
- Global business experience preferred, including managing diverse teams
- Travel required
