Job Description
We are seeking talented and highly motivated candidates to join the Molecular Biology R&D team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This Scientist I position offers the opportunity to contribute to new product initiatives for Ion Torrent DNA sequencing technology, which is rapidly changing the speed and scalability of DNA sequencing for research and clinical science.
The successful candidate will support new product initiatives and sustaining released projects within the Molecular Biology R&D team. The candidate will apply molecular biology laboratory skills for the proper execution of Ion Torrent DNA sequencing, collect and analyze data, and present results. This position entails working with a team of experienced scientists and interaction with cross-functional teams.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in molecular biology, genetics, chemistry or similar disciplines.
1-3 years of experience in molecular biology or DNA sequencing industry
Experience in nucleic acid analysis including PCR amplification and purification.
Experience in optimization of reagents and protocols.
Excellent organizational, record keeping and communication skills.
A strong work ethic to deliver results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is necessary.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $63,800.00–$95,750.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
