REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager PAY: Salary
POSITION Full Time FLSA CLASS Exempt
DEPARTMENT Engineering SHIFT Day
JOB SUMMARY:
The state compliance specialist ensures shelters are designed to meet all codes applicable for the site
jurisdiction. The specialist will maintain a database of jurisdictional codes, requirements and work with
the sales department to clarify questions during the quoting process. The specialist then submits plans,
stamped drawings, calculations, fees, and requisite forms to state and/or applicable jurisdictions for
approval. The specialist will serve as inter-departmental liaison to ensure all stakeholders possess
timely and accurate information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced knowledge MS Office applications.
- Well-developed communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
- Ability to understand governmental codes, policies, and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
• Maintain state licensing and permits for all TBB production facilities.
- Create state submittal packages, submit, and track progress.
- Order appropriate product labels.
- Schedule and coordinate all required inspections.
- File monthly reports when applicable.
- Maintain and own PSF (third party) relationship.
- Coordinate necessary functions at all production facilities.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
The State Compliance Specialist is expected to work with minimal supervision and a customer
centered focus and initiative to proactively address issues which may affect Engineering, Sales,
Quality, and Operations to prevent personal injury, property damage, increased cost, or loss of
revenue to TBB.
TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, & SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB
manufacturing location Monday through Friday. The Specialist may expect travel of 15% and may be

required to remain out of town on overnight trips in fulfillment of his or her job responsibilities. Standard
office hours apply 8am-4:30pm EST. At times extended hours could be necessary to fulfill job duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- None
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degrees a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in working within a quality compliance environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel required.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- A general willingness to embrace new computer technologies plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including but not limited to):
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
- Able to lift/carry 15 lbs.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This position is a full-time, salaried position that does not require
hourly time reporting and is eligible to participate in Thermo Bond vacation, medical, 401K and life
insurance programs.
