Requirements / Qualifications
1) High School Diploma or GED equivalency 2) Valid CA Class B Commercial License with “S” endorsement, School Bus Certificate and DL – 51 3) CPR/First Aid Certification or CHP First Aid Testing 4) Addition to Bus Driver Testing Pool (under CA Vehicle Code); required to submit to random drug and alcohol testing under the guidelines of the DOT Bus Driver Pool. 5) DOT physical required for pre-employment clerance, thereafter, every two years, or every one year if over the age of 65, or as required for medical issues 6) Certification of "basic" level Computer Skills Assessment; the District will schedule an exam to qualified candidates 7) Typing certificate at 35 wpm (net) on a 5-minute test. Test should be taken at the Butte County One Stop. This test is not issued by the District and must be taken at Butte County One Stop.
Please note: Hiring preference will be given to applicants who have a current Class B License and School Bus Certificate. Applicants without a Class B License and School Bus Certificate may be considered. If hired without a Class B License and School Bus certificate, the employee would be given up to 6 months from date of hire to obtain a Class B License and School Bus certificate.
