Position Summary

Thermal-Tec is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial roofing projects from handoff through completion. This role includes planning, coordination, execution, safety oversight, scheduling, cost control, hiring support, technology utilization, and customer communication.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in live industrial environments. Strong people skills, conflict management experience, IT experience, and the ability to support field crew needs are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Coordination

- Manage roofing projects from contract handoff to final closeout

- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment

- Support field crew needs and ensure crews receive required resources

- Hire new crew members in partnership with management

- Develop and maintain project schedules and daily work plans

- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, crews, and internal teams

Field Oversight

- Verify compliance with project scope, drawings, and manufacturer requirements

- Diagnose and resolve field issues before they affect safety, quality, or schedule

- Apply working knowledge of hydraulic pumps used in roofing and industrial operations

Budget, Documentation & Technology

- Track job costs, labor hours, daily/weekly production, and material usage

- Review daily reports and maintain accurate jobsite documentation

- Manage closeout documentation and warranties

- IT, including new device and software implementation                                                                              

- Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement

Safety & Compliance

- Enforce company and customer safety requirements

- Ensure OSHA compliance and complete jobsite safety standards

- Participate in safety planning, training, and support incident prevention efforts

Fleet & Equipment Oversight

- Manage Thermal-Tec’s light and medium-duty truck fleet

- Oversee preventative maintenance, inspections, and repair scheduling

- Ensure vehicle and equipment readiness for field operations

Customer Experience & Communication

- Maintain clear communication with building owners, plant managers, and contractors

- Provide regular project updates and quickly address issues or scope changes

- Apply strong people skills and conflict resolution techniques to maintain positive relationships

Required Qualifications

- 3 years of project management experience in commercial roofing, construction, or industrial projects

- Strong understanding of metal building construction, scheduling, and field coordination

- Ability to read plans, specifications, and project documentation

- Experience supporting and hiring field crews

- Knowledge of hydraulic pumps and industrial equipment operations

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict management skills

- Experience with IT systems, new device setup, software tools, and implementing automated workflows

- Experience using AI tools for productivity or operations

Preferred Qualifications

- Commercial roofing experience (metal, specialty systems, single-ply, or modified)

- Experience managing projects while facilities remain fully operational

- Familiarity with safety programs, job hazard analyses, site-specific safety plans

- Experience supporting heavy manufacturing clients (steel, food, chemical, warehousing)
