Job Overview
In this position you will be expected to maintain a professional manner, providing excellent customer service as reflected in the policies and practices.
Duties include but are not limited to,
- Accurately obtaining and processing information and documentation while maintaining a 98% accuracy rate.
- Adhere to department and organization compliance policies, as well as state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Answer the phone courteously and professionally within three rings using approved greetings.
- Collect necessary items at the time of service.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Participates in training activities for hospital-wide changes by attending meetings and in-services.

- Education High school diploma or GED.
- Typing Speed Minimum of 20 words per minute.
- Experience Two years of previous registration or insurance experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Communication Skills Excellent communication skills must be demonstrated.
- Medical Knowledge Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
- Computer Skills Working knowledge of basic computer skills and web-based applications.
- Interpreter Certification If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required.
