The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in creating a positive dining experience by assisting with meal preparation, serving residents, maintaining a clean and safe dining environment, and supporting the dietary team in delivering high-quality service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with seniors and understands the importance of respectful, person-centered care.
Schedule Information
- Primary schedule: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- Occasional 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM shift, as needed
- Every other weekend off
- 32 hours per week, considered full-time with full benefits
- Assist with the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals according to resident diets and facility guidelines
- Ensure food is handled and stored safely in accordance with health and sanitation regulations
- Set up dining areas before meals and clean and sanitize afterward
- Deliver meals to residents who dine in their rooms when needed
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and help maintain kitchen cleanliness
- Follow special dietary instructions under the guidance of dietary staff or nursing
- Monitor food inventory and notify supervisor of supply needs
- Provide friendly and respectful customer service to residents and visitors
- Support a positive, team-focused work environment
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Licensure: Must obtain a food handler permit within 30 days of employment
- Experience: At least 6 months of food service experience preferred
- Skills: Ability to read, write, follow directions, communicate clearly, perform basic math, and use basic computer systems
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to ensure timely and consistent attendance
