About the Role
As a Dietitian in an acute care setting, you’ll assess, plan, and coordinate nutritional care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions. You’ll work closely with physicians, nurses, and therapy teams to ensure each patient receives individualized nutrition support that enhances healing and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ nutritional needs and develop evidence-based care plans
- Provide medical nutrition therapy for acute and complex conditions.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families on diet modifications and nutrition management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality patient outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required.
- Active Iowa license (or eligibility).
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Previous acute care or hospital experience preferred.
