The Role We are seeking a dedicated Cath Lab Tech for a contract in an Acute Care Hospital in Orange, CA. In this vital role, you will assist the cardiology team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the catheterization lab with necessary sterile supplies, equipment, and medications.
- Operate and maintain complex imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, digital angiography).
- Monitor patient vital signs and ECG during procedures.
- Scrub, circulate, and/or monitor procedures, providing technical assistance to the physician.
- Document patient data, procedural details, and inventory usage accurately.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Active certification/registration as a Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent, with specific Cath Lab experience.
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Radiologic Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong technical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Prior experience in an acute care or cardiac catheterization lab setting is highly preferred.
