OT/COTA Occupational Therapy Position

Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you'll play a vital role in enhancing patient independence and quality of life through specialized occupational therapy services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a private based pediatric clinic delivering evidence-based interventions that make a real difference. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans, assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), and support individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and other life skill needs. Your expertise will help empower clients to achieve their goals and regain confidence in their daily routines.

Duties

• Implement and adapt occupational therapy programs tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate functional abilities, sensory processing, motor skills, and cognitive functions.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
• Develop and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient progress, and evidence-based practices.
• Support discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing education to patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and adaptive strategies.
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR) while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards and medical terminology.
• Collaborate closely with SLP to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in clinical interprofessional collaboration meetings to optimize treatment outcomes for individuals with complex needs.
• Support clients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or those requiring pediatric occupational therapy interventions.
• Contribute to early intervention programs or skilled nursing facilities by applying specialized knowledge in pediatrics or geriatrics as needed.

Experience

• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities across multiple settings such as inpatient acute care units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health services, or schools is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in working with pediatric populations including children with special education needs or developmental delays related to autism spectrum disorders.
• Proven ability to develop treatment plans that incorporate occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based practices for diverse client groups.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical documentation standards necessary for accurate record keeping.
• Experience working within electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring efficient documentation management.
• Strong client communication skills coupled with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care.
• Acute care experience—including ICU or post-acute settings—is advantageous for providing comprehensive inpatient support.
• Knowledge of occupational health principles applicable in workplace rehabilitation or injury prevention contexts is a plus.

Pay: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour
