Duties
- Greet patients warmly at the front desk, providing excellent patient service and phone etiquette
- Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR).
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing processes, and collect payments.
- Manage medical records, including filing, documentation review, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical billing and coding, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10 coding, and Medicaid claims processing
- Support clinical staff by updating patient information, coordinating intake procedures, and patient scheduling.
- Handle administrative tasks like data entry, filing, and phone systems
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical and administrative skills is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and health information management best practices
- Excellent communication skills with a professional phone manner and customer service focus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and other office management software.
- Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicaid claims is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining accuracy
