Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing group and individual recreation interventions to patients in skilled nursing homes or assisted living settings.
Duties
- Develop and lead quality recreation therapy processing groups and 1:1 interventions
- Provide care tailored to adult patients with various conditions including mental health and substance use disorders
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate recreational therapy into overall patient care
- Develop and implement new therapeutic recreation activities in existing facility programs.
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed Recreation Therapist (TRS, MTRS)
- Previous experience working with geriatric patient populations in nursing care facilities
Abilities Required
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with employees, representative of other agencies, and the public.
- Perform duties requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment.
- Interact with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and the treatment team.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
