Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our dedicated team in the Lehigh Valley and Greater Philadelphia region. The ideal candidate will utilize music as a therapeutic tool to enhance the emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of clients. This role involves working with individuals with various needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, dementia/memory care and behavioral health challenges. The Music Therapist will create personalized treatment plans and facilitate individual and group sessions to promote healing and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine clients' needs and develop tailored music therapy treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using a variety of musical techniques.
- Utilize music to address emotional, cognitive, and social goals for clients.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in music therapy.
- Provide support for clients with developmental disabilities and autism through creative interventions.
Skills
- Proficiency in various musical instruments and therapeutic techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including developmental disabilities and autism.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health practices.
- Ability to conduct individual group counseling sessions effectively.
- Familiarity with maintaining medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
