Job Description and Responsibilities
This is a full-time, in-person role as a School Social Worker located near Castle Rock, CO. The School Social Worker will be responsible for providing counseling and support services to students, collaborating with teachers and parents to develop individualized support plans, conducting assessments and evaluations, and facilitating communication between school staff and external agencies. The School Social Worker will also be responsible for advocating for students' social and emotional well-being and providing crisis intervention when necessary.

Qualifications
- Master's degree or LSE or LCSW in Social Work with certification
- Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required (Colorado CDE license required - SEE BELOW)
- 2 years of experience preferred but not required
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting
- Knowledge of local and state laws and regulations related to school social work
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices
- Knowledge of community resources and support services
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications'
Licensing: Colorado requires a (CDE) Dept of Education License in addition to the State DORA.
A CDE license requires either one of these 3 options
1: A MSW with an additional school social work degree/certification from a masters program or having taken a School Social Work/FBA class.
2: A MSW with current pediatric and/or documented hours and working towards 900 hours, plus an additional course (3 credits from CSU or Metro) to complete the CDE requirement. This course will need to be completed sometime in the 2024-25 school year. We will also reimburse 50% of this cost.
3. A LSW or LCSW, plus an additional course (3 credits from CSU or Metro) to complete the CDE requirement. This course will need to be completed sometime in the 2024-25 school year. We will also reimburse 50% of this cost.

Physical Requirements
If applicable, working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities.
