Job Description

  • Provide one on one support with students in a classroom setting
  • Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plans, with BCBA
  • Documentation, progress notes, and write therapy notes for each session
  • Communicate with teachers, parents and caregivers with BCBA
  • Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials and strategies
  • Attend meetings
  • Follow the guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Full Time 7.5 hours/day
  • Goals: behavior management, life skills, sensory regulation.
  • Collaborative approach
  • In-person or Zoom interview
  • Dual support from the District and TheraPeds

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the team and clients.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism.
  • Background and criminal history check

  • Experience working with children ages 2-14 in a classroom, day care, 1:1 setting, or instructional childcare setting as a RBT-Preferred
  • Experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational or Allied Health-Preferred

Behavior Technician (RBT) Basic & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry clients who are least 30 pounds
  • Must be able to follow district policies regarding restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk and run to chase clients and maintain a three-foot distance at all times
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection and session documentation
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
  • Must be able to document and have word processing skills
  • Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk or on the floor
  • Must be able to assemble, clean and maintain work space including toys and furniture

Pay & Benefits

  • This position will be 1099
  • Hourly rate varies on experience, education and location
  • $25-$35.00/Hour
