Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistive Technology(AT) Evaluator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential for providing evaluations and recommendations for assistive technology devices that enhance the learning and communication capabilities of children with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in school settings, particularly with pediatric populations, and will be committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students to determine their assistive technology needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized plans that incorporate assistive technology solutions.
- Provide recommendations for appropriate assistive devices and strategies based on assessment findings.
- Deliver training and support to educators and families on the effective use of assistive technology.
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, recommendations, and follow-up services.
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in assistive technology relevant to pediatric care.
Skills
- Strong background in school experience, particularly within pediatric settings.
- Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and patient care practices.
- In-depth knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology as it relates to patient assessment.
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies to support children with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
