About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a 6-month assignment in Eureka, California. This role offers a mix of clinic, inpatient, and surgical coverage with strong support from an established orthopedic team.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, general hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Some days may start earlier (7:00 a.m.) depending on OR schedule or hospital rounding needs
• Patients per shift: 20–22
• Call: 5 days per month 1 weekend every 5–6 weeks
• Weekday call: clinic call during the day, then night call after 5:00 p.m.
• Weekend call rotation as assigned
• Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours/day
• Overtime: Applies after 8 hours/day (must be approved by clinical operations)
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic visits and inpatient rounding
• First assist in the OR
• Comfortable assisting with a wide range of orthopedic surgeries
• Collaboration with surgeons and APP team
• Call coverage as assigned

Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA
• Active California license & CA DEA required
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital clinical activity in orthopedics
• Case logs required for surgical specialties
• Must explain any practice gaps >3 months
• Credentialing timeline: 60–90 days (application required within 5 days of RFA)
