Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Jersey City, NJ. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to help patients improve functional abilities and independence in daily activities. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, documenting progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care. The role involves educating patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices. The Occupational Therapist will also participate in care planning meetings, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support quality and compliance standards within the facility.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of therapeutic interventions.
- Foundational understanding of Medicine as it relates to functional limitations, diagnoses, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
- Effective Communication skills for interacting with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members in a clear and respectful manner.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including the ability to tailor interventions to developmental needs and family-centered care.
- Current state license (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist and graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills with attention to regulatory and ethical standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment and adapt to changing patient needs and caseload demands.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred; prior experience in subacute, outpatient, or acute rehab settings is a plus.
