Job Description:
Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Direct Hire Senior System Engineer. This individuals plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management, design, and architecture of servers and datacenter technologies. As key contributors to the Systems team, they provide direction, guidance, and recommendations for all related processes and services. The role encompasses the installation, configuration, and ongoing improvement of datacenter technologies, ensuring alignment with the evolving IT business needs of the organization. System Engineers actively troubleshoot and resolve issues within computer and server systems to minimize work disruptions.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- US Citizen or Green card Holder eligible to work direct W2 with not sponsorship required now or in the future. (NO CORP TO CORP)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Expertise in automation tools and scripting, with proficiency in PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform
- Extensive experience in both Windows and Linux environments, supporting, architecting, and deploying.
- Expertise in designing Hypervisor environments, including VMware vSphere 7.0, Nutanix AOS, and other VMware portfolio offerings
- Experience managing and maintaining Storage arrays, including experience with enterprise arrays such as HPE Alletra, Dell PowerStore, NetApp, Pure Storage, etc.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of disaster recovery and backup solutions, with knowledge of business continuity solutions such as Zerto and VMware SRM
- Exhibit extensive knowledge of Windows Active Directory design and support, ADCS, DHCP, Group Policies, and DNS
- Understand 3-tier architecture and Hyperconverged infrastructure like Nutanix AOS and VMware vSAN
- Self-motivated with high initiative
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish
- Ability to use data to drive activity, productivity, and cost
- Significant knowledge system software/hardware technology
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
VMWare, Microsoft certification (Systems Administration), ITIL certifications
Responsibilities:
- Design and architect datacenter and cloud-based solutions, including the deployment of new servers and extending clusters
- Install and configure both Windows and Linux Servers
- Manage and design Hypervisor environments, including VMware vSphere 7.0, Nutanix AOS, and other VMware portfolio offerings
- Design and implement cloud architecture, with familiarity in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps
- Manage and perform maintenance on Storage arrays, including experience with enterprise arrays such as HPE Alletra, Dell PowerStore, NetApp, Pure Storage, etc.
- Prioritize a security-first mindset, incorporating least privilege and Privilege Access Management principles
- Comfortable with cross-training and actively participates in knowledge sharing within the team
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on the environment
- Work independently with minimal oversight, progressing through projects and tasks efficiently
- Proactively adapt to changes in duties, responsibilities, and activities as needed
