It was 1986 when the Schafer family, with Harold ready to retire from business, donated all they’d created in Medora to establish the non-profit Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. 

In the years since, we’ve grown from a staff of a handful of folks to more than 90 full-time employees, with hundreds more seasonal workers and over 650 volunteers. We’ve awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of scholarships to our staff. The Medora Musical has earned the attention of The New York Times. And we’ve earned a reputation as the #1 tourism and hospitality provider in North Dakota.

This Position:

The Golf Course Outside Service Attendant is responsible to greet and assist players with preparation for play and departure in order to give customers the best experience possible at Bully Pulpit. 

Meet and greet all customers. 

Assist players by unloading and loading their clubs. 

Handles and washes golf clubs for players. 

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the golf cart fleet. 

Maintains clean equipment and organizes garages. 

Picks and sets up the driving range. 

Follows proper club opening and closing procedures. 

Participate in workplace safety meetings.  

Promote sales of events and services by providing all guests with enthusiastic and accurate information for these offerings. 

Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with TRMF values. 

Perform other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent verbal communication skills. 

Reliable, on time, and ready for every shift. 

Provide outstanding guest service.  

Able to work independently both inside and outside the clubhouse. 

Required Education and Experience

Must have a Clean U.S. Driver's License

Must give exceptional service to all guests.  

Must be able to troubleshoot and create solutions if needed.  

Must be at least 16 years old.  

Previous experience with golf courses or driving ranges preferred. 

Must be able to work in outdoor environments.  

Must be fluent in English, bilingual a plus. 

Work Environment

This position is generally an outdoor position which involves working in hot, humid conditions and various weather elements.  

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to talk, hear, hand/eye coordination, stand, walk, have repetitive use of hands and arms, and grasp. Visual acuity to determine accuracy, details and transcribe data, determine neatness and thoroughness of work assigned, and determine safety of workplace surroundings for themselves and guests. Occasionally required to push, pull, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work long hours and available for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
