Theodore Presser Company is seeking a Concert Music Library Associate for our Rental department. The ideal candidate is intelligent, dynamic, and familiar with classical music. This is for either a full-time or part-time position based in our Malvern, PA office.

Join our Rental Department.
The Rental Department manages music in genres ranging from large orchestral works, operas and ballets, to chamber music for small ensembles. Our rental team services the performance needs of ensembles including professional and amateur orchestras, college and school ensembles, churches and individual performers worldwide. In conjunction with providing printed music for performance, we are positioned to meet increasing demand for digital delivery of music as ensembles embrace the use of technology for performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer orders by entering them into order management software
- Preparing sheet music and ensuring that it is complete and in good condition for performance
- Packaging and shipping prepared sheet music
- Processing returned sets by checking its condition and returning it to the shelf
- Preparing and delivering music materials digitally
- Coordinating with print shop to produce new scores and parts
- Responding to customer quote inquiries
- Preparing and processing customer invoices
- Maintaining an organized library
- Assisting with special projects
- Delivering effective customer service
- Scanning orchestral scores and parts
- Assisting with organizing and manipulating PDFs for print
- Assisting with print and assembly of orchestral scores and parts
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely climb step ladders to access some inventory; routine handling packages of music, and occasional handling of heavy boxes
- Reports to Rental Manager
- Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in customer service or related fields
- BA/BS degree preferred, major/minor in music related fields a plus
- 3-5 years professional administrative work experience
- Knowledge/background in classical music a must
- Digitally savvy: is very comfortable with technology, and with learning and using new systems and applications.
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently when necessary
- Extraordinary customer service commitment
- Effective communication skills: professional, cheerful and courteous demeanor
- Comfortable in a changing environment, and with learning new processes
- Familiarity with engraving software programs a plus
Compensation will depend upon prior experience. For full-time employees, excellent benefits package offered after 3 months of employment.
