About the role: 

The Nuclear Company is a leading innovator in the nuclear energy sector, dedicated to advancing clean and safe energy solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Manager to lead and manage crucial areas or disciplines as part of our cutting-edge nuclear projects. This critical role will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This role reports to the Director, Construction. 

Responsibilities:

Manage construction project execution of a given area / discipline, including:  

  • Planning, scheduling, and budgeting for all construction activities. 
  • Managing construction contractors and subcontractors. 
  • Ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. 
  • Monitoring construction progress and identifying and resolving potential issues. 
  • Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures on the construction site. 
     

Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, including superintendents, contract administrators, and engineers. 

Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including NRC regulations, construction codes, and environmental regulations. 

Assist in development of innovative construction methods and technologies to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.

Assist in management of project risks and development of mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and delays.

Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, including clients, regulators, contractors, and internal teams.

Ensure the safe and successful handover of completed areas to the operations team. 

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.    
  • 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a background of major industrial or power project experience.   
  • 5 years of experience managing complex construction projects, preferably in the nuclear energy or other highly regulated industries. 
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery within budget and schedule. 

Skills:  

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools. 
  • In-depth knowledge of construction safety and quality control procedures. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: 

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis.  The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
