Why We Need You 

To grow the Museum’s Individual Giving program, we need a leader who can both manage a high-performing team and design donor programs that strategically cultivate and steward relationships. You will build a best-in-class major gifts program that equips frontline fundraisers with insights, strategies, and tools to engage donors meaningfully. Your leadership will ensure thoughtful donor journeys across all levels of giving, maximizing philanthropic potential and sustaining long-term engagement.

 

What You’ll Accomplish 

  • Lead and manage a team of fundraisers: Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management to ensure the team delivers high-impact support for individual giving.
  • Establish and execute a robust pipeline development strategy: Build and oversee systems to identify, qualify, and prioritize high-potential prospects for major and leadership giving
  • Design and manage pipeline-building programs: Lead community giving campaigns, giving societies, and other donor engagement initiatives, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into the major gifts pipeline.
  • Build and execute thoughtful donor journeys: Develop structured, strategic engagement and stewardship plans that guide donors from initial interest to meaningful, long-term giving relationships.
  • Optimize portfolio management and advance prospect pipeline health: Partner with gift officers to ensure portfolios are balanced, strategic, and aligned with organizational goals. Monitor movement through the donor cycle, and execute strategies to deepen engagement, accelerate giving, and enhance donor experiences.
  • Leverage data and technology: Develop tools, reports, and systems to inform strategy, track KPIs, and provide actionable insights for fundraising success.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration: Partner with colleagues in stewardship, events, and major gifts to translate insights into action and ensure cohesive, thoughtful donor journeys.

 

What We’re Looking For (Competencies) 

Pipeline builder & program architect: Demonstrated success creating, scaling, and managing fundraising programs, with experience growing annual, mid-level, and major giving.

Strategic communicator & steward: Skilled at designing donor journeys, messaging, and engagement strategies that cultivate lasting relationships.

Data-informed decision maker: Proficient in using CRMs and donor analytics to drive strategy, track KPIs, and evaluate program performance.

Cross-functional leader: Experienced in managing teams and collaborating effectively across functions to ensure smooth donor experiences and handoffs.

Leadership & management: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and inspire staff, set clear goals, and drive team performance toward organizational objectives.

Creative & strategic thinker: Brings innovative ideas and solutions to donor engagement and cultivation challenges.

Mission-driven relationship builder: Passionate about advancing the organization’s mission through authentic, lasting donor relationships.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in individual giving, annual giving, or donor engagement, with demonstrated results in team leadership, pipeline development, and donor retention

Salary Range

$112,000 - $140,000 USD
