Software Engineer (5G / Bluetooth / Wi-Fi)

Job Description

Client is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer with strong experience in wireless technologies, source code debugging, and customer-facing technical support. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers and internal engineering teams to analyze, debug, and resolve issues related to 5G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi applications on embedded Linux/Android platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Debug and analyze software issues related to 5G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity across embedded and mobile platforms.
• Perform source code level debugging and root-cause analysis for protocol stack, driver, and application-level issues.
• Work directly with customers to reproduce issues, provide technical support, and communicate debugging findings effectively.
• Collaborate with modem, RF, firmware, and application engineering teams to resolve complex wireless connectivity problems.
• Capture and analyze logs using tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, ADB, logcat, QXDM, and protocol analyzers.
• Validate wireless functionality including association, authentication, roaming, throughput, and interoperability scenarios.
• Support Linux/Android system debugging, peripheral analysis, and shell scripting for automation and issue reproduction.
• Develop and maintain test scripts for regression, validation, and customer issue replication.
• Participate in field testing and interoperability validation for carrier and device certification activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in 5G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi technologies.
• Experience with source code debugging in embedded Linux and/or Android environments.
• Knowledge of wireless protocols including LTE/5G NR, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), and Bluetooth.
• Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, QXDM, ADB, logcat, and protocol analyzers.
• Experience with shell scripting or Python for debugging and automation.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, routing, and wireless security concepts.
• Excellent communication skills with proven customer-facing support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modem and connectivity chipsets.
• Understanding of WPA2/WPA3, Bluetooth profiles, and 5G data services.
• Exposure to carrier certification, interoperability testing, or field debugging activities.
• Experience working with cross-functional global engineering teams.
