Senior Mechanical Engineer – Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join our growing engineering team. This role focuses on designing mechanical systems: including HVAC, plumbing, & fire protection for a wide range of complex projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, & project management skills to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs while mentoring junior team members.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Carrier HAP
- Skilled in system failure analysis & developing effective mitigation strategies
- Strong understanding of mechanical testing procedures & lifecycle documentation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, & attention-to-detail skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Strong written & verbal communication skills for effective collaboration & client interaction
Key Responsibilities
- Develop complete mechanical design packages in alignment with project scope, schedule, & budget
- Design, coordinate, & review HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems throughout all project phases
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, & other stakeholders to ensure design intent, constructability, and regulatory compliance
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules, deliverables, and budget expectations
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for design, field, or performance issues
- Perform quality control (QC) reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements for efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and testing activities
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation in accordance with standards and internal QA/QC procedures
