Job Title: Bar Manager (Part Time)
Job Purpose: The Bar Manager is responsible for the staffing and administration of the THELMA bars, which include indoor and seasonal outdoor bars. The manager is also responsible for bar inventory, operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, and sales/cash management. The manager will also serve as the lead bartender at large events. This position reports to the Programs Director.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision
1. Supervise bartender staff, including scheduling, training, and monitoring of individual bartender performances to ensure excellent customer service.
2. Organize additional bar support staff as approved by the Programs Director
Bar Management
1. Manage liquor, beer, wine, and soda inventories and compile order lists for the Programs Director.
2. Maintain general awareness of Wisconsin liquor laws.
3. Coordinate appropriate staff and equipment needs for each event.
4. Coordinate vendor/client needs including deliveries and clean-up, including dishes and bar surfaces.
5. Manage event alcohol sales from event booking through event evaluation, including supply/inventory control, managing staff, clean-up, and event evaluation.
6. Oversee bar set-up, assisting with the set-up as needed.
7. Close out bars at the end of each event, including cleaning, POS closing procedures, and inventory.
8. Maintain cleanliness standards in all bars and kitchen areas.
9. Under the direction of the Programs Director, collaborate with the Rental Events Manager on services provided to clients.
10. Monitor the working-order of bar and kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, ice-makers, freezers, coolers, and keg-a-rators. All issues should be brought to the attention of the Programs Director or Facilities Coordinator.

2. Communicate effectively with administrative and event staff to ensure smooth operations, including proficient use of office tools and technology.
3. Other duties as assigned. THELMA employs an “All Hands On Deck” policy for large events.
Required Qualifications
· Previous experience must include one year of bar management.
· Minimum of two (2) years as a licensed bartender.
· Significant customer service experience.
· Valid and in good standing driver’s license.
· Candidate must live in the Greater Fond du Lac area.

The position is primarily based on-site with approximately 15-30 hours a week, depending on the season. The work is physical in nature and occurs in locations where the noise level is louder (approximately between 90 and 120 decibels) and warmer than room temperature.
This position works at various hours, depending on the program schedule. Flexibility of hours is negotiated with the Programs Director on an ad-hoc basis.
