Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Lake Forest, CA. The Non-QM Underwriter will play a crucial role in evaluating loan applications and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include reviewing credit worthiness, analyzing loan applications and supporting documents, calculating income, ensuring adherence to underwriting standards, and communicating with relevant stakeholders, such as loan officers and processors. Additionally, the role involves maintaining attention to detail, exercising sound judgment, and consistently delivering accurate and timely decisions.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of Non-QM loan programs, mortgage underwriting principles, and FNMA/FHLMC policies
- Proficiency in analyzing income documentation, loan applications, and supporting financial data
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders
- Proficiency in using loan origination systems (LOS) and underwriting technology
- Experience in adhering to federal, state, and investor regulatory guidelines
- Minimum of 2 years in Non-QM underwriting or relevant position preferred
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is an asset but not mandatory
