Job description:
We are currently seeking Part-Time Occupational Therapists to join our team and help us deliver in-home services and comprehensive care that enriches the lives of our clients.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with children and a strong desire to make a positive impact on their lives. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating children with various developmental delays, disabilities, or injuries, focusing on improving their fine motor skills, sensory processing, and overall independence. You will collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing support and guidance.
The candidate must be available to work day and evening hours based on the needs of the clients and the organization.
Reports to: Children’s Services Coordinator
Must be able to travel for in-home sessions and services.
- Establish a secure, positive environment that nurtures individual needs, self-expression, and goals.
- Complete formal reviews and evaluations
- Complete progress reports, complete discharge summaries, educate family and caregivers, communicate with families and team members as needed
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess children's strengths and areas of need.
- Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans to address individual goals and objectives.
- Providing therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, gross motor, functional strengthening, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and social participation.
- Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborating with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support the carryover of skills into home and community settings.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and billing records.
- Additionally, synthesizes evaluation results to formulate the diagnosis, goals, prognosis and plan of care.
· Establishes treatment plan based on evaluation results, goals and best practice.
· Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, patients and patient’s support system. Assesses and re-assesses need for modifications to plan of care and goals.
- Provides education/training to patient and/or patient support system
- Responsible for treatment, plan of care, exercise prescription for patient caseload
- Maintain all required documentation in compliance with company procedures and state/agency requirements.
· Comply with the organization's policies and procedures.
· Must fully participate and comply with any internal or State investigations
· Must complete all required corporate, required trainings in a timely manner
· Successfully complete all pre-employment checks including a background check & drug screening
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Occupational Therapy license from an accredited program.
- Current NJ state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a therapeutic setting
- Knowledgeable in occupational therapy, multi-disciplinary team approach, sensory integration, and rehabilitation principles and practices.
- Knowledgeable evidence-based practices found to benefit children with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD)
- Experience in pediatrics preferred.
- Proficiency in navigating insurance processes and documentation requirements for billing purposes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and families.
- Valid CPR License
- Excellent oral, written communication
- Strong clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success

- Must have personal liability insurance
