Summary : The Supervisor, Environmental Services oversees the day-to-day environmental services operations. Organizes and supervises the daily workflow, creates department schedules, and reallocates team members and resources based on patient census and acuity. Develops and implements efficient and productive cleaning methods to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, infection prevention, and patient safety standards. Conducts quality improvement inspections within assigned areas to ensure quality and satisfaction level. Ensures team members are in compliance with state and federal regulations and department or ThedaCare policies and procedures. Promotes and strengthens team member engagement, process improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, and workplace safety. Maintains and enhances interpersonal relationships with medical staff, team members, patients, and visitors. Job Description: Job Description KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Oversees the daily operations of the department. Regulates daily activities of team members, providing necessary guidance and support to maintain quality performance standards. Selects, coordinates, and monitors applicable contracted services. Ensures that work techniques, quality assurance standards, department policies and procedures, and job specifications are followed and meet regulatory compliance Hires, transfers, and supervises team members. Develops performance expectations and coaches, evaluates, and motivates team members. Investigates complaints and performance concerns. Ensures appropriate staffing to achieve outcomes within the units. Leads or implements system initiatives, process improvements, and regulatory and/or policy changes through the work of team members by using effective change management principles to achieve high reliability outcomes. Identifies opportunities for improvement to deliver highest quality outcomes. Ensures professional practice standards are met through reviews, meetings, reports, and observation of results. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED One year of work experience in a hospital, hotel, or long-term care facility as a lead or supervisor over comparable roles preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance. Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Occasional high noise level in work environment. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents. Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients. Use of computers throughout the work day. Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.
